Soon it will be time to ring in the New Year! If you’re planning a wedding in 2017, the coming year promises lots of new trends to watch out for. Some of these you may find that you are inspired to incorporate them into your own wedding plans.
Color, Color Everywhere!
This coming year, color is back in a big way. According to Nahid Farhoud of Nahid’s Global Events, “Color is making a comeback, versus all white weddings. We are seeing fewer florals and more props as well as hanging centerpieces and more lighting patterns in abundance!”
Make an Entrance!
A growing trend in weddings lately has been making an entrance in style. Venues that include glass elevators or dramatic theatrical-style staging can make a statement. Others make use of sparklers and other fireworks or fire starters to delight wedding guests in attendance.
Destination Weddings
Why be ordinary? It isn’t every day that a person gets married, so why not consider a destination wedding? You can just as easily tie the knot just as easily in Ireland, Mexico or the Bahamas as you can here at home. According to Megan Velez of Destination Weddings, many couples are choosing off-the-beaten-path locales such as Italy or Canada for something truly out of the ordinary.
It’s All About the Dress
2017 is all about expanding on the idea of having the look of two dresses in one. Many gowns made for today’s bride who wants to move easily from a ball gown look to a sheath dress in subtle fashion and without having to pay for two dresses to do it! According to Ann Olienik of Ann & Cam Photography, expect to see more of this kind of look!
The Wedding Feast
Today’s wedding reception fare is not what it has been in the past. Today’s wedding receptions feature snacks well into the night when the party is just getting started. Also as part of the dinner, additional entrees are being added beyond just the traditional soup and salad. In addition to the traditional wedding cake, couples are adding donut walls, trays of cookies and plates of cheese as well.
