Hot Wedding Trends For 2018

It’s not a big secret:  Today’s engaged couples are choosing to do their wedding day their way.  From the less formal to truly laid back, more personalized touches that make your big day in 2018 truly one of a kind.  You can rest assured; this is definitely not going to be anything like your parents’ wedding day!

In a recent article featuring scores of photos of what’s hot that appeared on the Stylecaster website, the Bohemian look remains highly popular as an overall wedding look.  With a royal wedding looming on the horizon for 2018, many brides are getting into the mood for something a little more classic. Enter in dresses that have a Victorian or Edwardian charm paired with high, lace-up boots and a bouquet made of florals and moss.  Gifts for the guests can come in the form of handmade dream catchers in white or similar inspirational quotes embossed on gifts that will make a wedding memorable long after the big day.

In case you’re wondering what the look for grooms is in 2018, there are new styles for him, too! According to Wedding Wire, dark navy blue is the new black. Couples are choosing to get away from the stark black and white look on invitations and wedding décor and go with deep, midnight blue tones instead.

For overall wedding décor, geometric shapes or personalized letters in neon or hard wood crafted to match the first initials of the bride and groom or their shared last name are quickly becoming all the rage.  Rather than having a lattice archway, opting for a moss wall festooned with seasonal flowers or tendrils of hanging wisteria instead will give nuptials an overall natural, ‘woodsy’ feel.

As to food trends that are making a big impression for 2018 weddings, unique foods are something to be on the lookout for.  Couples want to share unique dining experiences with family and friends. One way to offer new taste treats is to offer food-to-table locally produced dishes or a way for guests to roll their own sushi or try international favorites in a buffet setting.

For dessert, according to Nora Sheils of Bridal Bliss Event Planning located in the Pacific Northwest says that while wedding cakes aren’t going away, other sweet treats such as popsicles, custards, and ice cream sandwiches are what’s being served at wedding fetes that go late into the night.
